She had puppies and was locked away with them in a tiny room inside the notorious โhouse of horrorโ. When another rescuer came for her puppies, they were taken to safety โ but Cassie was left behind. We of course took her in.
๐ง๐ฒ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ (๐๐ต๐/๐๐ถ๐บ๐ถ๐ฑ/๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ณ๐๐น/๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ/๐น๐ฎ๐๐): Cassie is such a lovely, affectionate girl despite her past.
Our team met her in August 2026, and they said: How she has remained such a wonderfully gentle and loving dog is something we will never understand.
We were there when Cassie was finally brought out of her quarantine cage for the first time, and she quite literally hasnโt looked back since.
She adores being outside โ rolling happily in the dry soil, exploring the grass and coming over to us for affection. She stood so patiently while we bathed her, and it was clear just how much she loves water. Simply standing in it brings her so much joy.
Cassie may not be as lively as some of the younger dogs at the shelter, but she mixes beautifully with everyone. She much prefers to sit quietly in the shade and watch the crazy little ones racing around, rather than joining in with all the chaos.
Cassie could happily live with another dog and would love the companionship. Her ideal home would be a peaceful one, where she can finally experience the calm, security and love she has been denied for so long.
Whoever adopts Cassie will truly feel as though they have won the lottery.
