We have worked deep into the rural communities since 2013. Without the support of the locals, we simply cannot help the dogs and cats. Every time we go into the communities, we make notes of homes with unspayed animals, where the strays are, we bring medicines and animal food. At Christmas, for one day, we support these communities and try to bring one day of magic to their lives.
This year, our team are heading to south Romania to bring Christmas joy into the communities.
Due to increasing red tape, we can no longer take pallets in lorries into Romania. All materials need a disinfection certificate, the receiver needs an import licence, endless paperwork including listing contents and weighing every single item – the subsequent costs and hundreds of hours of our team’s work made this task impossible.
This year, we are taking very limited donations in our suitcases, with only 100kg or so of weight allowance, we are asking if people want to donate to us, for the following only:
- New knitted hats, scarves and gloves sets for adults and children.
- Good quality warm winter coats. Pre-loved but in very good condition please – all children sizes.
- New Kendama toys.

Kendama is truly the “in” toy this year in Romania, made from wood and string, it gives hours and hours of endless fun and laughter and the children of all ages are loving them! Plenty of websites in the UK sell them from £6 upwards in price. We would love to take some of these toys out to the children.
In addition to the above, we will be buying food for everyone, to ensure that everyone has a meal this Christmas.
