It was Burn’s Night in Scotland, yet in Romania in the cruel depths of winter, the delivery driver saw a skeleton as he was dropping a parcel off. He made contact with our team, and we drove straight round to the house. Their pet on a very short chain – emaciated within days of dying in temperatures which have been as low as -19C.
For the time being, taking no action against the owners, there are then we took the dog, piled him into the car, and into a quarantine enclosure at the Sanctuary.

It is essential that we keep all new dogs in “quarantine” for 14 days. His enclosure is 6 metre square, with an insulated kennel, blanket and heat lamp.
He was, and still is starving. With experience in how to build up skeletal dogs, he is carefully being fed small meals frequently.
We cannot wait to see his eyes shine again and his tail wag. We named him Robbie, after Burn’s Night.
It is thanks to everyone’s kind donations that we can keep saving lives, just like Robbie’s.
