Advent Sunday and we were in Romania. We wanted to make 1 st December a special one for some of Romania’s most precious children. We bought advent calendars and Christmas decorations for each child, and a small gift for each nurse, and headed to the children’s terminal cancer unit.
The smiles that greeted us, we will remember forever, as the excitement at having their own advent calendar hit us with the realisation that most of the children had never even had one before. Whilst many of these children may not survive until Christmas, we know that at least we made their day, and brought happiness to these true angels.
